Hi all! 

We are getting excited to start our 2023 summer season with you!

A few reminders as we are about 3 weeks out from the first practice:

• Please sign up for our text remind (we use the Remind app). To signup, text @jnst to the number 81010
• Our first home meet is the second day of the season. This isn't unusual due to the length of the season and the number of meets our League schedules for us. If your child is unsure about meets or would simply like to wait until they have a few more practices, that is completely fine! We usually encourage those not swimming to at least come and check it out & cheer on their team.
• Signups for volunteer slots for our home meets will be available later this week. I will send a Remind once those are up. PLEASE consider helping fill a spot. We are unable to run a successful home meet without your help.
• Equipment- for practices, swimmers need a swimsuit and competition goggles (please no goggle/scuba masks, having the nose uncovered is very important). Caps are optional. I do have team caps to give to new swimmers! All other equipment is optional. Some kids like to have their own kickboards but it is not a requirement. We like to keep costs low for families. If you are buying a new suit, we suggest solid black if possible. 
• Officials- In order to participate in meets, both home and away, our team must provide at least 2 officials for every meet. Right now we only have 2 parents that are certified to officiate. If you would like to volunteer and be a part of the officiating crew, the league is holding a training session THIS SUNDAY, May 21st at 4:00pm at the Granville Recreation District Office. Please email me for more details. 
• Lastly, some of you may have already heard but we are very excited to announce that we will be hosting our HOME MEETS at the Newark YMCA outdoor pool! The YMCA pool will provide us with ample parking and a 6-lane pool which will help meets move faster/smoother. That being said, we are also able to run a full concession stand this year!! This will be a fundraiser for our team so we will be asking for donations from our parents to help stock the concessions. We are working on finalizing the details and will have a Signup Genius out to you by next week to signup for those items. We appreciate ALL of your help!
