Rachel Furr is the Founder and Head Coach of JNST. She is a full time mom of 3, who’s love of swimming started at the age of 8. She swam age-group on a team very similar to this before beginning her high school career. As team captain, her love of leadership in the sport grew exponentially and she knew that coaching would be a career path she would pursue. Rachel graduated from The Ohio State University in 2010 with a degree in Mathematics and coaching coursework. She was head coach at Lifetime Fitness for 2 years before she began coaching the Northridge Middle School and High School teams in 2013. She just recently concluded her 11th season where she has coached new swimmers to new school record holders, as well as veteran swimmers to obtain their highest goals. Rachel was named conference Coach of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2021, while advancing the largest and most diverse District Teams in school history and the only two State Qualifiers Northridge has had.
Coach Rachel has been involved with the sport of swimming for 25 years and could not be more excited to be on this journey with the Johnstown-Northridge Swim Team. Swimming is her passion and she hopes to instill that same passion in those that she coaches.
